Job Description
Position Summary
Ticket Office Cashiers are responsible for delivering outstanding guest service by creating a welcoming, friendly, and memorable experience for every guest. This role assists with ticket sales and guest inquiries, shares information about trail conditions, events, and activities at the ski area, processes transactions accurately, maintains an organized and inviting sales area, and supports operational standards while adhering to company policies.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
Customer Service & Guest Experience
- Greet and acknowledge every customer, creating a friendly and welcoming environment.
- Provide outstanding service by maintaining high standards and demonstrating solid knowledge of ticket packages and pricing, operating hours, anticipated closures, retail products, and other relevant information.
- Proactively support guest concerns and questions with professionalism, empathy, and a solution-oriented approach to ensure a positive guest experience.
- Model exceptional guest service, teamwork, professionalism, and safety awareness.
Cash Handling & Point of Sale
- Operate the cash register and handle transactions accurately.
- Process transactions using a Point of Sale (POS) system.
- Receive and audit cash bag at the beginning of shift.
- Count cash register at the end of each shift to ensure accuracy and drop bank in Accounting Room.
Retail Merchandising & Inventory
- Assist with floor moves, merchandising, and display maintenance.
- Maintain inventory and notify the Ticket Office Supervisor of restocking needs.
- Ensure timely and accurate restocking of merchandise.
Administrative & Clerical Duties
- Answer telephones and perform other clerical duties as required.
- Assist coworkers and supervisors with administrative tasks.
- Perform accurate company-required recordkeeping.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management team.
Policies & Safety
- Ensure all liability waivers are complete prior to finalizing transactions.
- Support a positive guest experience by maintaining accurate pricing and information, following operational procedures, and upholding company standards for asset protection and accountability.
- Help foster a positive and inclusive workplace culture and assist colleagues across departments as needed.
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
- Minimum Age is 16 years old
- Must pass a background check
- Basic knowledge of POS systems
- Prior cash handling experience preferred.
- Ability to accurately serve as a cashier, including processing credit cards, making change, and other basic math skills
- Ability to multi-task
- Ability to work in a team environment and take direction from management

The employee frequently accesses all areas of the store, including selling floor, stock area, and register area; the ability to climb ladders. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities this position requires include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high.
