Job Description

Job Description
Lead safety across the road and the plant—every day, in real time

Your day starts with a quick scan of CSA BASIC trends and overnight DOT inspection results. By mid-morning, you’re reviewing Driver Qualification Files and coaching terminal leaders on Hours of Service adherence. After lunch, you’re walking a chemical facility, validating SPCC controls and Hazard Communication practices ahead of an EPA visit. You close the day aligning audit-readiness plans across multiple states. If that rhythm sounds like your sweet spot, this role is built for you.

What you’ll lead Hazmat Transportation Safety (FMCSA / PHMSA)

Direct ownership of safety programs for a hazardous materials transportation fleet—not generic trucking or warehouse safety. You will oversee:

  • Driver Qualification Files
  • Drug & Alcohol programs
  • Hours of Service compliance
  • DOT inspections and CSA BASIC monitoring
  • Hazmat driver training and regulatory compliance
Chemical Industry Environmental Compliance

Hands-on management of environmental and safety programs in chemical manufacturing, distribution, or hazardous materials facilities, including familiarity with:

Regulatory Audit Leadership

Prepare for and lead third-party and government audits, including:

  • DOT audits
  • EPA inspections
  • OSHA inspections
  • Industry compliance programs (ACD Responsible Distribution or similar)
Multi-Site Safety Leadership

Implement and sustain transportation and facility programs across multiple terminals/facilities and across multiple states.

Incident Investigation & Risk Management

Reduce risk and events through:

  • Root cause investigations
  • Safety program development
  • Driver coaching and accountability programs
  • Data-driven safety performance monitoring
Salary
  • $75,000/year - $95,000/year (based on experience)
What you bring
  • Hazardous Materials expertise
  • Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Certification
