Location: South Austin, TX Onsite

Pay Rate: $28/hr

Job Type: Full-Time

We are looking for a payroll specialist on a temporary contract basis.

Job Summary:

Role Overview:

The Payroll Specialist assists the Payroll Administrator with the preparation of the weekly payroll. The job responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, data entry, filing, addressing employee questions about payroll, responding to pay verification requests, and other administrative tasks associated with the payroll function.

Key Responsibilities:

· Enter payroll data from reports and spreadsheets.

· Enter data for new hires, terminations and employee changes.

· File payroll paperwork and maintain payroll records according to the established retention policy.

· Will serve as back up payroll administrator and process entire payroll, beginning to end, as needed.

· Respond to employee questions regarding payroll and time off policies.

· Respond to payroll verification requests.

· Assist with gathering information for payroll audits.

· Assist with administering the boot allowance program.

· Other duties as assigned.

Desired Skills & Qualifications:

· Solid understanding of payroll best practices and accounting fundamentals

· Knowledge of payroll legislation and regulations

· Experience and proficiency with ADP Workforce Now

· Ability to produce accurate results while meeting payroll deadlines

· Ability to multitask and prioritize work

· Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite – e.g., Word, Outlook, Excel

· Trustworthiness and ability to maintain confidentiality

· Outstanding organizational skills and attention to detail

· Excellent verbal and written communications skills in English
