Direct Support Professional (DSP)
Job Description
Ameriwell Care is hiring compassionate and dependable Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to join our growing team.
Schedule:
30 hours per week
Thursday, Friday, Saturday & Sunday
Consistent weekly schedule with opportunities for additional hours.
At Ameriwell Care, we provide one-on-one support to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities throughout New Jersey. Our DSPs play a vital role in helping individuals live fulfilling, independent, and meaningful lives while building genuine relationships.
ResponsibilitiesProvide compassionate one-on-one support in the individual's home and community.
Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) as needed.
Encourage independence while ensuring the individual's health and safety.
Accompany individuals on community outings, recreational activities, shopping, and appointments.
Build a positive, trusting relationship with the individual and their family.
Complete accurate daily documentation and electronic shift notes.
Follow each individual's ISP, behavior support plans, and agency policies.
Communicate professionally with supervisors, families, and support coordinators.
Experience supporting individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities is preferred but not required.
Compassionate, patient, dependable, and professional.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation preferred.
Ability to successfully complete all required background checks and training.
