Senior Automation Technician - MaintenancePay Rate - $31.82 to $42.16 Based on QualificationsShifts Available2nd Shift (Mon - Fri 2:00 am - 10:30 pm)Position SummaryThe Senior Automation Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and optimizing automated production systems to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable operation. This role provides advanced technical support, leads automation-related projects, and serves as a resource and mentor to junior technicians. The Senior Automation Technician works closely with engineering, maintenance, and production teams to support continuous improvement efforts and minimize downtime.Job DescriptionITroubleshoot, repair, and maintain PLCs, HMIs, robotics, sensors, vision systems, servo drives, and related automation equipment.Perform advanced programming, logic modifications, and parameter adjustments to improve machine reliability.Diagnose control system failures using electrical diagrams, schematics, and diagnostic tools.Maintain and update backups of PLC/HMI programs and documentation.Conduct preventive and predictive maintenance on automated equipment.Recommend and implement improvements to increase equipment uptime and overall performance.Lead or support installation, setup, and commissioning of new automated machinery.5+ years of experience in industrial automation, preferably within a foundry or heavy manufacturing environment.Minimum Education: Two-year degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Engineering Technology with a concentration in Automation, PLC, Robotics Preferred Education: Four-year degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Engineering Technology with a concentration in Automation, PLC, Robotics Consistently able to:Manually lift and move product and materials up to 55 lbs. through regular physical exertion, including but not limited to reaching forward, reaching overhead, lifting, carrying, crouching, and bending.Power grip and wrist turn, including the use of hand tools and/or steering for truckWalk, sit, or stand for up to 12 hours with intermittent breaksPush/pull 100 lbs.See, inspect, and evaluate product qualityRead and understand written work instructions in EnglishWork in a non-climate-controlled environment, including hot and humid conditions.Walk up and down stepsClimb ladders and stairs of varying heightWear task-based Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) provided by LSIProtective Footwear; metatarsals or molders boots depending on the position (reimburse after30 days)Hearing ProtectionProtective EyewearGlovesAdditional PPE as required for specific tasks
