Position Objective:
- To assist in administrating, maintaining and enhancing all aspects of the information (IT) technology utilized at AO, with minimal intrusion to other co-workers.
- Provide technical support to maintain the information systems within the organization and interface with Managed Service Provider (MSP) and vendors.
- Maintain all software and hardware currently used within the company and possess the ability to quickly assimilate and understand other software as needed.
- Maintain an orderly and accessible inventory of hardware and software as well as track licenses and renewal updates as needed.
- Diagnose and repair computer hardware problems, including but not limited to PC’s, printers, laptops, smartphones and other electronic devices.
- Coordinate with the MSP to develop and follow protocols for purchase of hardware and software to maintain rigorous compliance with security requirements.
- Participate in training sessions and lead training sessions are needed to acquaint other with new and/or current software and hardware.
- Plan for the future IT needs of the company, including technologies, systems, policies and procedures.
- Duties subject to change as determined by needs of business over time.
- College Sophomore or Junior with GPA of 3.5 or higher
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time
- Effective problem solving and debugging skills
- Attention to detail and effective time and schedule management skills
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Windows-related platform technical support. Some Linux experience is desirable
- Good working knowledge of computer networks
- Ability to respond to evolving customer requirements
- Associate’s Degree; and one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent education and experience
- Familiarity of Software development lifecycle and revision control practices is helpful
- U.S. Citizen or Green Card Holder
- May be required to obtain and maintain US Government Security Clearance
- Hours: The internship is a part-time, year-round position that requires a minimum of sixteen hours per week of work. The hours are flexible and they can change from one quarter to another based on the class schedule. The weekly hours can be adjusted to balance for the examinations, tests and project submissions.
