Staff Development Coordinator

Premier Healthcare at Harrington House

Walpole, MA

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Staff Development Coordinator to join our team at Premier Healthcare at Harrington House in Walpole, MA. As a key member of our staff, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and evaluating educational programs to ensure our nursing team is equipped to provide high-quality care to our residents.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Participate in the completion of the facility assessment to identify educational needs among staff

  • Develop and implement a training plan to address regulatory requirements and facility needs

  • Plan, schedule, conduct, and oversee orientation programs for all personnel

  • Develop and schedule refresher training as needed

  • Track attendance and completion of training to ensure all required training is received

  • Review educational content to ensure it reflects current standards of practice and facility policies and procedures

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Identify and prioritize facility educational needs through the completion of an educational needs assessment

  • Work closely with the facility's Compliance Officer and other leaders to develop a training plan

  • Collaborate with department managers to develop competencies required for meeting residents' needs

  • Cooperate with the Administrator during routine evaluation of the training program's effectiveness

  • Maintain all training records, reports, instructional materials, and speaker qualifications related to each educational program

Requirements:

  • Minimum requirements include a nursing degree from an accredited college or university, or be a graduate of an approved LPN/RN program

  • Two years of experience as an LPN/RN

  • Eligible to participate in federally funded health care programs

  • Must meet state requirements for relevant licensures or certifications and have no disciplinary action in effect against professional license

  • Extensive knowledge of current standards of practice and the rules, regulations, and laws related to the long-term care industry

  • Ability to teach this knowledge to others

  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language

  • Must be a supportive team member, contribute to and be an example of teamwork

  • Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action

  • Ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the general public

  • Patience, tact, and willingness to deal with difficult residents, family, and staff

  • Ability to relay information concerning a resident's condition

  • Must not pose a threat to the health and safety of other individuals in the workplace
