The Caregiver is responsible for providing professional caregiving services to our clients, helping them maintain their independence, and assisting with activities of daily living, household tasks, and family support services.
Pay $20.00-$25.00 Per Hour
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to:

Assist with personal care activities, including:
  • Baths (sponge, tub, shower, and bed bath)
  • Oral hygiene
  • Basic skin care and foot care
  • Hair grooming (shampoo and combing), shaving, and ordinary nail care
  • Toileting
  • Catheter and colostomy care (empty only)
  • Transferring (bed to chair, wheelchair, shower, etc.)
  • Dressing and undressing
  • Changing diapers/briefs
  • Ambulation
  • Medication assistance/reminders
  • Assist with home exercise plans
Assist with household tasks necessary for the client’s health care needs, including:
  • Planning and preparing nutritious meals
  • Assisting with feeding, as appropriate
  • Light housekeeping, including linens and making the bed
  • Laundering clothing and bedding
  • Assisting with shopping
  • Use equipment and supplies safely
  • Engage clients in conversation, hobbies, activities, and games
  • Monitor and encourage range-of-motion exercises and other procedures as instructed
  • Maintain a written log with receipts for any client money used for purchases
  • Report any changes in client’s condition to the supervisor
  • Document care provided according to agency requirements
  • Perform other duties as assigned

  • Self-motivated and committed to staying up-to-date technically
QUALIFICATIONS
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • At least one year of experience in home health care
  • Must meet New York state requirements for caregiving services
  • Safe and reliable transportation to and from client locations; must have a vehicle available during shifts for shopping needs
  • Availability to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Current (not expired) HHA certification
  • Active driver's license
  • Must have a car available for use during shifts
PHYSICAL DEMANDS include but are not limited to:

  • Ability to lift, move, and assist clients safely. If you feel you cannot safely lift a client, please notify the office immediately.
  • Ability to safely assist clients in and out of a vehicle and lift a wheelchair or walker weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to communicate clearly to exchange information accurately.
  • Ability to operate office equipment such as a computer and phone.
  • Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safely.
  • Ability to perform tasks such as lifting, light housekeeping, walking, and driving.
