ADT - Direct Care Professional - Pensacola, FL
Seeking a compassionate and caring individual that wants to make a difference in the lives of physically handicapped and mentally disabled adults.
The ADT - Direct Care Professional will be working in our E Street location supporting physically handicapped and mentally disabled adults Monday - Friday, 7:30am to 4:00pm. The ADT-DCP will be responsible for treating all students with the utmost consideration and respect at all times. Responsible for constant/continuous supervision of students. Assist drivers and other staff in unloading/loading vehicles transporting students to and from the Program. Provide students with functional activities to complete. Assist students in activities to increase their level of independence, knowledge or personal interests. Provide personal care as needed to include bathroom assistance, assisting in preparation of lunches while maintaining a sanitary and safe environment. Assist with instruction throughout the day according to the planned curriculum that is planned weekly. Assist with scheduling and planning seasonal/special events appropriate for program students.
Required:
Must have one year of direct care experience. Demonstrated ability to work well with physically handicapped and mentally disabled adults. Ability to physically lift adult residents. Must have adequate command of language and ability to use initiative within the framework of the Day Program Coordinator's instructions and/or lesson plans.
Must have a valid Florida Driver's License with a good driving record. A High School Diploma, GED or High School Transcripts. Pass a Level II Background Screening and a Local Background Screening. Complete CPR/1st Aid Training and Medication Administration Training within the first 90 days of hire.
