Join Our TeamNexus Neurorecovery Center – San Antonio is seeking a dependable, detail-oriented Housekeeper to help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for our residents and team members.
Our San Antonio program provides specialized residential care for adolescents with complex behavioral and emotional needs. Housekeeping plays an important role in creating the structured, therapeutic environment our residents need to heal and grow. What You'll DoAs a Housekeeper, you will be responsible for the cleaning and sanitation of assigned areas throughout the facility. Responsibilities include:
- Clean and maintain resident rooms, bathrooms, offices, common areas, waiting areas, corridors, dining areas, and other assigned spaces.
- Sweep, wet mop, vacuum, and maintain floors throughout the facility.
- Empty trash containers and properly dispose of waste and other disposable materials.
- Clean and sanitize resident rooms and bathrooms on a daily basis.
- Vacuum, detail, and shampoo carpeted areas as needed.
- Clean windows, walls, lights, vents, fixtures, and other surfaces.
- Change curtains and drapes as needed.
- Assist with moving furniture, equipment, and supplies.
- Properly use housekeeping equipment, including vacuums and carpet-cleaning equipment.
- Follow established procedures for the safe use, labeling, storage, and security of cleaning chemicals.
- Maintain a clean and organized housekeeping cart and properly store equipment and supplies at the end of each shift.
- Follow appropriate infection-control practices and use required personal protective equipment.
- Safely clean areas involving human waste, bodily fluids, and other potentially infectious materials when necessary.
- Demonstrate flexibility in scheduling to support the needs of the facility.
- Communicate effectively with residents, team members, leadership, and other departments.
- Perform additional housekeeping and facility-support duties as assigned.
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
Experience
- At least one year of housekeeping experience in a healthcare, medical, behavioral health, residential, or similar environment preferred.
- Experience with commercial cleaning products and equipment is a plus.

This is an active position that regularly requires standing, walking, bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, and lifting. Housekeepers work with cleaning equipment, water, chemicals, and potentially infectious materials and must follow all applicable safety and infection-control procedures.
The position carries a Group One Personnel Exposure Risk for potential exposure to blood-borne pathogens. Required training, precautions, and personal protective equipment will be provided in accordance with facility policies.
Tuberculosis screening and required facility training/certifications must be completed and maintained in accordance with Nexus requirements.
