Construction Consultant – Southeast Michigan


Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture or related from an accredited university.
  • 0-2 years of construction site experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, proficient with Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to travel throughout Michigan and possibly around the Midwest.
  • Understands the overall construction of building and building systems.


Preferred:

  • Previous exposure with construction draw applications and inspections
  • Ability to read and interpret construction documents, including drawings, specifications, contracts, budgets, schedules, geotechnical studies and related information.


Job Description:

A successful candidate will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team in a fast-paced and dynamic environment providing construction inspection services on industrial, commercial and residential construction sites to verify that construction projects are completed in accordance with documentation provided by the contractors on a monthly basis. Position will perform an inspection of the construction site and communicate with construction superintendents as well as construction loan administration staff from local to national lending institutions. Expectations include:

  • Conducts construction draw inspections and reporting.
  • Conducts construction analysis for project viability.
  • Conducts and participates in Property Condition Assessment projects (Fannie Mae, HUD, ASTM 2018).
  • Demonstrates full knowledge of each project’s status and goals.
  • Performs tasks across multiple disciplines to bring about successful project completion.
  • Responds to clients in a timely manner.
  • Other duties not listed may also apply.

  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 50+ pounds
  • Ability to perform repetitive motions with the hands, wrists, and fingers
  • Ability to stand, sit, walk, lift, carry, reach, kneel, crouch, bend and climb a step stool/ladder/stairs/high-rise stairs/scaffolding/ scissor lifts
  • Ability to safely use manual tools and power equipment common in the environmental industry
  • Ability to handle contaminated/hazardous materials safely while adhering to safety guidelines
