About This Role

A Preschool Teacher fosters a nurturing environment where young children can thrive physically, socially, emotionally, cognitively, and spiritually. They must be well-prepared educators who can create engaging lesson plans, manage classrooms effectively, and partner with parents to support the educational journey of their children. As a representative of the school, they are expected to embody Christian values and live out their faith in their daily interactions with students, families, and staff.



What You'll Do

Instructional

  • Develops and implements comprehensive lesson plans that cater to the diverse needs of students.
  • Establishes a safe and inclusive classroom environment that promotes socialization, emotional intelligence, and academic growth.
  • Utilizes diverse teaching strategies to engage students and meet curricular objectives.
  • Provides regular progress reports and assessments to parents, highlighting areas of strength and opportunities for improvement.
  • Maintains accurate and up-to-date records of student attendance, progress, and behavior.
  • Coordinates and prepares for field trips, guest speakers, and other activities that enhance the learning experience.
  • Promotes a culture of respect, kindness, and empathy among students, families, and staff.
  • Stays organized, manages time effectively, and prioritizes tasks to meet deadlines and achieve goals.
  • Maintains a clean, safe, and welcoming classroom environment that reflects the school's values and mission.

Non-Instructional
  • Establishes and maintains positive relationships with parents, families, and the broader community.
  • Supports the school administration by adhering to policies, procedures, and directives.
  • Provides feedback and recommendations to improve administrative and managerial processes.
  • Coordinates with colleagues to plan and implement school events, programs, and activities.
  • Maintains confidentiality and handles sensitive information with discretion and care.
  • Participates in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills, stay current with best practices, and meet certification requirements.
  • Contributes to the school's mission by embodying Christian values, living out their faith, and promoting a culture of respect, kindness, and empathy.


Requirements

Spiritual
  • Demonstrates a personal commitment to Jesus Christ and lives out their faith in their daily interactions.
  • Is an active member of an evangelical church and models a lifestyle consistent with Biblical teaching.
  • Shows spiritual maturity, leadership, and a sense of calling to Christian education.
  • Reflects the school's mission by honoring Christ in all classes and activities.
  • Lives as a Christlike role model in words, actions, and attitudes.
  • Demonstrates the importance of prayer, scripture memory and study, witnessing, and unity in Christian fellowship.
  • Applies the Matthew 18 principle when resolving conflict.
  • Encourages students in their walk with Christ, guiding them toward salvation, growth in faith, and a sense of purpose in Him.
  • Provides a safe, caring, and supportive environment for students, families, and staff.
Personal
  • Is at least 18 years of age and demonstrates a commitment to ongoing learning and personal growth.
  • Exhibits Christian character qualities such as enthusiasm, courtesy, flexibility, integrity, gratitude, kindness, self-control, perseverance, and punctuality.
  • Responds to everyday challenges with emotional stability, objectivity, and a positive attitude.
  • Builds strong relationships with students, families, and staff based on respect and kindness.
  • Submits respectfully to school leadership and demonstrates loyalty to its mission.
  • Maintains a professional appearance in accordance with school dress code and as a model of modesty and cleanliness.
  • Communicates clearly and effectively using standard English in both spoken and written form.
  • Represents the school in a positive, professional manner to families and the broader community.
  • Prioritizes teaching responsibilities above outside or volunteer work.
  • Shows a genuine interest in and appreciation for the unique culture and needs of the community.
Other Requirements
  • Is in good health with no significant limitations that would hinder performance or burden the school.
  • Submits proof of a recent physical examination prior to employment; annual updates are recommended.
  • Provides written tuberculosis clearance prior to employment; annual updates are recommended.
  • Report all signs of illness, injury, unusual behavior, or possible abuse to administration (Mandatory Reporters)
  • Maintains a current First Aid/CPR certification.
