Information Systems Security Officer (Secret Clearance)
Job Description
UltraViolet Cyber is seeking to hire an Information System Security Officer (ISSO) to ensure that IT systems maintain their security posture and regulatory compliance. The candidate will bridge the gap between technical teams and organizational leadership, managing Assessment and Authorization (A&A) packages, continuous monitoring, vulnerability assessments, and mitigation strategies.
- Security Compliance: Maintain Authorizations to Operate (ATOs) in accordance with government and industry frameworks (e.g., NIST, RMF, FISMA).
- Documentation & Reporting: Develop, update, and manage System Security Plans (SSPs) and track Plans of Action and Milestones (POA&Ms).
- Continuous Monitoring: Conduct routine vulnerability scanning, log analysis, and system auditing.
- Change Management: Assess the security impact of hardware, software, and firmware changes before implementation.
- Incident Response: Act as the primary point of contact for security-related issues and coordinate incident investigations.
- US Citizenship is required for this role.
- Secret Clearance is required.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related IT field. (Or 6 years of experience equivalency)
- Experience: 10+ years of combined IT, cybersecurity, or security authorization experience.
- Certifications: DoD 8570/8140 compliance, such as Security+, CGRC (formerly CAP), or CISSP.
- Background Investigation: This role requires a federal background investigation. A current or prior DHS suitability is highly preferred.
