Job Description:
The Bilingual Front Desk Specialist will support daily clinic operations through patient check-in, check-out, scheduling, registration, payment collection, and insurance-related tasks. Team members rotate through different front office functions, so candidates should be comfortable learning multiple workflows and assisting wherever coverage is needed.
This is a high-volume environment supporting multiple providers and requires someone who is organized, dependable, and confident communicating with patients in both English and Spanish.
Key Responsibilities:
- Check patients in and out for scheduled appointments.
- Schedule and reschedule patient appointments.
- Update patient demographics and registration information.
- Work assigned Epic work queues and resolve missing registration information.
- Review referral status and schedule patients once appropriate documentation is received.
- Identify missing authorizations and communicate issues to the appropriate team.
- Collect co-pays, deductibles, coinsurance, and other patient balances.
- Explain basic patient financial responsibility and payment expectations.
- Process patient payments accurately within the EMR.
- Assist with front desk coverage across multiple clinic functions.
- Maintain efficient patient flow in a high-volume specialty practice.
- Provide professional and friendly customer service to patients, providers, and team members.
Requirements:
- Bilingual in English and Spanish required – must be able to read, write, and speak both languages.
- Medical front desk, patient access, or medical receptionist experience required.
- Epic experience highly preferred.
- Candidates must be comfortable attending required Epic training.
- Experience with insurance terminology and patient financial responsibility strongly preferred.
- Must understand the basics of co-pays, deductibles, and coinsurance.
- Procedure scheduling experience is a plus but not required.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to multitask and stay organized in a high-volume clinic.
Additional Details:
- Schedule: Monday–Friday with shifts varying based on front desk rotation
- Typical shifts range from 7:30 AM–5:30 PM
- Work Model: 100% onsite
- Assignment Type: Contract-to-Hire
- Environment: High-volume specialty physician clinic
- Patient Volume: Can reach approximately 80–100 patients per day during peak provider schedules
- Candidates should be flexible to occasionally support a nearby clinic location when coverage is needed.
- Attire: Black scrubs
