About This Role
We are looking for a caring, dependable, and nurturing Assistant Infant Teacher to join our classroom team. The Assistant Infant Teacher works closely with the Lead Teacher to provide quality care, support daily classroom routines, and build positive relationships with children and their families.
What You'll Do
- Help provide a warm, nurturing, and safe environment where infants feel comfortable and cared for.
- Assist with daily routines including feeding, diapering, nap time, and transitions.
- Follow each child's individual feeding, sleeping, and care routines.
- Comfort and reassure children when they are upset, tired, or need extra attention.
- Talk, sing, read, and interact with infants throughout the day to encourage early language and social development.
- Engage children in age-appropriate activities that encourage sensory exploration, movement, curiosity, and learning.
- Assist the Lead Teacher with preparing and carrying out classroom activities and lessons.
- Observe children's interests, behaviors, and developmental progress and share observations with the Lead Teacher.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming classroom.
- Follow all health, safety, sanitation, and licensing requirements.
- Ensure children's belongings, bottles, food, and personal items are properly labeled and handled.
- Communicate respectfully and professionally with families, sharing important information about their child's day when appropriate.
- Work as part of a team and be willing to step in and help wherever needed.
- Treat every child with patience, kindness, respect, and understanding.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding children, families, and the school.
- Participate in staff meetings, training, and professional development opportunities.
