Dwight Securities Management (“DSM”) is an actively managed real estate investment trust specializing in the origination and financing of commercial mortgages across a range of real estate asset classes. DSM works in conjunction with affiliate firm Dwight Capital to source and evaluate lending opportunities nationwide.
The Senior Accountant will support loan, debt, and joint venture accounting for DSM, helping to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant financial reporting. This is a collaborative role, working closely with the Controller, investment and asset management teams, external auditors, fund administrators, and tax advisors, reporting to the Chief Accounting Officer. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented, hands-on accounting professional with real estate experience, strong technical accounting skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

This is a collaborative role, working closely with the Controller, investment and asset management teams, external auditors, fund administrators, and tax advisors, reporting to the Chief Accounting Officer. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented, hands-on accounting professional with real estate experience, strong technical accounting skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Role & Responsibilities
• Manage accounts payable, cash positions, partner distributions
• Prepare and maintain accounting ledgers, loan tape, and perform bank reconciliations
• Support investor reporting and distribution models
• Prepare financial reporting packages for various joint ventures using Yardi Voyager/MRI to book journal entries
• Monitor, document, and track vendor deal invoices, closings, payoffs, modifications, extensions, etc
• Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reporting
• Prepare warehouse compliance reporting to counterparties
• Assist with annual external audits for various fund vehicles and investment products

Required Experience & Skill Sets
• Must be a go-getter and take initiative to solve problems
• 2-5 years of experience in an accounting/finance/operations role. A mix of public/private preferred
• Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting for funds and management companies
• SEC Reporting experience preferred but not required
• Strong Yardi/MRI skills, including booking journal entries, creating properties (both stand alone and consolidated), and extracting financial reporting packages for validation
• Strong accounting skills and attention to detail
• Strong communication skills with banking institutions, vendors, and internal staff
• Ability to prioritize tasks with strong time management skills
• Ability to troubleshoot issues independently
• Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint and executing wires Yardi
