Responsibilities
  • Perform diagnostics and troubleshooting on diesel engines, including trucks, buses, and refuse vehicles.
  • Conduct routine maintenance and repairs to ensure optimal vehicle performance and safety.
  • Inspect and test vehicle systems, including brakes, transmissions, and electrical systems.
  • Replace or repair defective parts and components as needed.
  • Maintain accurate records of repairs and maintenance performed.
  • Collaborate with team members to improve shop efficiency and safety practices.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in diesel technology.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in diesel mechanics preferred.
  • Proven experience as a diesel mechanic, preferably with trucks, buses, or refuse vehicles.
  • Strong understanding of diesel engine systems and components.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays as needed.
