Job Summary:
Provides comprehensive nursing care to labor, delivery, postpartum, and newborn patients. Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates individualized patient care while monitoring maternal and fetal well-being. Assists with labor, delivery, neonatal resuscitation, postpartum recovery, and newborn care. Collaborates with physicians and the interdisciplinary healthcare team to ensure safe, high-quality, patient-centered care.

Requirements:

• Current RN license in the state of practice.

• Current BLS, ACLS, NRP, and Fetal Monitoring certifications.

• Previous Labor & Delivery experience preferred.

• Strong assessment, critical thinking, communication, and emergency response skills.

• Willing to float to other units as assigned based on competency and facility needs.

Essential Functions:

• Provide nursing care throughout labor, delivery, postpartum, and newborn care.

• Monitor maternal and fetal status and recognize changes requiring intervention.

• Assist with vaginal and cesarean deliveries and neonatal resuscitation.

• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.

• Perform newborn assessments, testing, and patient education.

• Maintain accurate clinical documentation.

• Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary healthcare team.

• Follow infection prevention, patient safety, and hospital policies.

• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
