Department: Registration | Status: Full-Time, Non-Exempt
Orthopedic Institute is looking for a warm, detail-oriented Patient Service Representative to join our Registration team. You'll be the first face our patients see and the first voice they hear — setting the tone for their entire visit. What You'll Do- Greet patients, family members, and visitors in a courteous, calm, and professional manner
- Complete accurate and efficient patient registration and check-in, including collecting demographic, insurance, and related information
- Verify insurance eligibility and explain basic registration and financial requirements to patients
- Collect copays, deposits, and other patient payments, and reconcile collections daily
- Communicate with clinical staff to support smooth patient flow and provide wait-time updates
- Manage multiple priorities — phones, walk-ins, and administrative tasks — while maintaining accuracy and a positive attitude
- Protect patient privacy and confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA and organizational policy
- Rotate between assigned work areas and clinic locations as needed

Requirements:Education
- High school diploma or equivalent required
Experience & Skills
- One year or more of customer service experience required; physician office or healthcare front-desk experience preferred
- Prior experience with registration, scheduling, insurance verification, or point-of-service collections in a healthcare setting is a plus
- Comfortable using computers, phones, and standard office equipment (fax, copier, scanner, credit card terminal)
- Ability to learn and accurately use electronic medical records and practice management systems
- Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent organizational skills with close attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to stay composed, patient, and professional in a busy, high-volume clinic setting
