Overview:Reporting to the Wood Truss Supervisor, the Wood Truss Assembler is responsible for assembling precut wooden trusses according to specifications in a safe and efficient manner to meet internal and external customer needs. Essential Functions:Promote and drive safety-first culture, ensuring the safety of employees, contractors, and visitorsKnow and follow safety and emergency procedures as neededOperate assembly equipment and tools in a safe and responsible manner to assemble wooden trusses as per customer orders, while adhering to quality specificationsRoutinely perform quality checks and make adjustments as needed to provide customer with accurate and damage-free productComplete all daily orders Maintain clean work area and workstation prep throughout shiftComplete housekeeping and workstation prep tasks prior to end of shiftRoutinely perform preventative maintenance on machinery as per trainingTroubleshoot and/or notify immediate supervisor of machine breakdowns or issuesMaintain and/or update department visual tracking metrics boardsCross-train on other functions in the departmentProvide support in meeting and/or exceeding department and plant goals such as safety, quality, scrap prevention and operational excellencePerform other duties as assigned. Skills/Experience Requirements:Ability toProperly utilize and maintain all personal protective equipment (PPE)Read and writeEffectively communicate with othersRead a tape measure, use a mallet and/or pneumatic staple gun and read blueprintsMaintain a dependable attendance recordReceive instruction and follow direction, including technical and multi-step instructionsWork indoors or outdoors in all weather conditionsWork independently as well as in a teamWork safely, remain calm and make decisions in a fast-paced environmentAbility and willingness toContribute innovative solutions to work-related challengesLearn, align with and support company goals, values and mission statementLead from any role within the organization and contribute in developing fellow team members Preferred attributesHigh school diploma or GEDPrevious field-related, forklift and/or manufacturing experience Physical Requirements:Standing for long periods of timeRoutine lifting up to 50 lbs (occasional lifting up to 60 lbs)Frequent to occasional lifting, stooping, squatting, kneeling, reaching, bending, twisting, pushing and pulling
