Since 1952, Light of Life Rescue Mission has been a safe refuge for homeless and hurting people in the Pittsburgh area. We've recently incorporated the Off the Floor furniture bank to our scope of services. This new operation seeks a Truck Driver & Warehouse Worker to assist in daily operations. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIESDrive furniture trucks to make pick-ups and deliveries.  Load and unload trucks at a furniture bank location on the North Side. Produce and maintain accurate documentation, including work orders and furniture vouchers. Execute pick lists and other applicable documents to fill order. Assist on dock or throughout warehouse when applicable.  Assemble all furniture when inside customer home before leaving. Safely operate all warehouse and moving equipment. Assist in maintaining a clean, safe, and orderly facility and accurate inventory. Mentor others, including junior staff, volunteers, and interns throughout the year. Due to the interface with the clients, all jobs at Light of Life require employees to:Walk alongside clients as a disciple of Christ and share the Gospel through actions and words.Establish mutual trust and create a safe, authentic environment so that the clients continue to mature in Christ.Resolve all issues in ways that promote the principles of Light of Life while following the processes described in the staff manual.Practice effective stewardship of all resources.Model personal responsibility, accountability, timely reporting and a self-evaluative lifestyle. EDUCATION & EXPERIENCEMinimum high school diploma or GED Valid PA Driver's license and clean driving record 7-10 years' driving experienceFurniture delivery experience preferred SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONSMust be able to lift large objects like furniture and appliancesValid driver's license and safe driving recordAbility to operate warehouse equipment including dolly, pump jack, power jack, and/or other material handling equipmentStrong customer service and verbal communication skillsKnowledge of General Driving Safety Principles Knowledge of substance abuse issues and recovery helpfulApplicants are encouraged to submit a cover letter with their resume.
