Travel Cardiac Operating Room Registered Nurse First Assistant (RNFA)
Location: New York
Pay: $,900 – $3,200 per week
Contract Length: 13 weeks (option to extend)

Schedule:
36 or 48 hours per week
Primarily weekdays
Shifts: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM or 11:00 AM – 11:00 PM
On-call required per unit needs

Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Cardiac Operating Room Registered Nurse First Assistant (RNFA) to support a high-acuity cardiac surgery program. The ideal candidate will have strong experience assisting in complex cardiac procedures, including vein harvesting and chest closure, and be comfortable working in a fast-paced surgical environment.

Responsibilities:

• Assist surgeons during cardiac procedures as an RNFA

• Perform vein harvesting for CABG procedures

• Assist with chest exposure and closure

• Participate in complex cardiac surgical cases

• Maintain sterile technique and ensure patient safety

• Collaborate with the surgical team to optimize patient outcomes

Case Experience Includes:

• Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting (CABG)

• Structural heart procedures (e.g., Bentall)

• Minimally invasive cardiac surgery (e.g., mini AVR)

• Heart failure cases (e.g., Impella)

• Heart transplant procedures (preferred)

• DaVinci robotic cases (preferred)

Additional Skills (Preferred):

• Ability to scrub and circulate complex cardiac cases

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of cardiac RNFA experience

• Active New York RN License (required)

• CNOR certification (required)

• Strong cardiac surgical experience

Certifications:

• BLS (AHA required)

• ACLS (AHA required)
