Position Summary
The Director of Human Resources is responsible for leading and overseeing all human resource functions across Live Well Healthcare Solutions, with a primary focus on supporting long-term care (LTC), skilled nursing, rehabilitation, and healthcare operations. This position serves as a strategic business partner to executive leadership and operational teams, ensuring compliance, workforce stability, employee engagement, labor relations, and talent development initiatives that support organizational growth.
The Director of Human Resources will provide leadership in recruitment, employee relations, labor management, performance management, compensation, benefits administration, compliance, training, credentialing oversight, and workforce planning while maintaining alignment with federal, state, and local regulations governing healthcare operations.
Key Responsibilities
Human Resources Leadership
Develop and implement HR strategies that align with the organization's operational and growth objectives.
Serve as a trusted advisor to executive leadership, regional directors, and facility leadership teams.
Lead all HR policies, procedures, and best practices across the organization.
Drive employee engagement, retention, succession planning, and workforce development initiatives.

Monitor workforce metrics and provide recommendations to improve staffing, retention, and productivity.
Labor Relations & Union Management
Serve as the primary HR leader for union-related matters and collective bargaining agreements.
Participate in labor negotiations and contract administration.
Interpret and ensure compliance with union contracts and labor laws.
Manage grievance procedures, arbitrations, disciplinary actions, and labor-management meetings.

Partner with operations leadership to proactively address workforce concerns and maintain positive labor relations.
Compliance & Risk Management

Ensure compliance with:
Federal and state employment laws
EEOC regulations
FMLA
ADA
OSHA
Wage and Hour laws
Healthcare-specific workforce regulations
Maintain compliance with CMS, Department of Health, and other regulatory requirements impacting healthcare personnel.
Oversee investigations involving employee relations, harassment, discrimination, and workplace conduct concerns.

Ensure proper documentation and risk mitigation practices are maintained.
Employee Relations
Lead employee relations initiatives to foster a positive workplace culture.
Provide guidance regarding disciplinary actions, performance improvement plans, and conflict resolution.
Conduct investigations and recommend appropriate corrective actions.

Support managers with coaching and performance management processes.
Compensation & Benefits
Partner with executive leadership on compensation planning and salary administration.
Oversee employee benefits programs and vendor relationships.
Conduct compensation benchmarking and market analysis.

Assist with annual budgeting related to labor and benefits expenses.
Training & Development
Develop leadership training programs for managers and regional leaders.
Oversee HR compliance training and annual education requirements.
Support career development and succession planning initiatives.

Ensure proper onboarding and orientation programs are maintained across all operations.
Required Qualifications
Education
Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Labor Relations, or related field required.

Master's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or related field preferred.
Certifications
One or more of the following certifications strongly preferred:
SHRM-SCP – Senior Certified Professional
SHRM-CP – Certified Professional
SPHR – Senior Professional in Human Resources
PHR – Professional in Human Resources
CHHR – Certified Healthcare Human Resources Professional (preferred)

Labor Relations or Collective Bargaining certifications are highly desirable.
Experience
Minimum 7-10 years of progressive Human Resources leadership experience.

Minimum 5 years of HR leadership experience within:
Skilled Nursing Facilities (SNF)
Long-Term Care (LTC)
Post-Acute Care
Healthcare Services
Demonstrated experience managing unionized workforces and collective bargaining agreements.
Experience leading multi-site healthcare operations across multiple states preferred.
Proven success supporting rapid organizational growth and workforce expansion initiatives.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Extensive knowledge of healthcare employment regulations.
Strong understanding of long-term care staffing requirements and workforce challenges.
Experience negotiating and administering union contracts.
Knowledge of labor laws, NLRB regulations, and collective bargaining processes.
Strong employee relations and conflict resolution skills.
Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Experience with HRIS systems, payroll platforms, and workforce management systems.
Ability to travel regularly to healthcare facilities and regional offices.

Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience supporting dietary, environmental services, housekeeping, rehabilitation, and nursing operations.
Multi-state healthcare HR leadership experience.
Experience with acquisitions, transitions, and start-up healthcare operations.
Background supporting organizations with 500+ employees.

Experience with healthcare staffing agencies, workforce planning, and labor cost management.
Physical & Travel Requirements
Ability to travel up to 50% as needed.
Ability to attend meetings, facility visits, and training sessions across multiple locations.
Ability to work flexible hours as operational needs require.
