Med-Surg RN
Job Description
A 267-bed hospital in Fort Walton Beach, FL — home to an Advanced Primary Stroke Center and a Cancer Care Center, and offering open-heart surgery, a pediatric emergency room, and two freestanding ERs — is hiring a Med-Surg Registered Nurse.
The role. The Med-Surg RN assesses each patient's condition at admission and throughout every shift, promptly identifying and communicating changes in status to the care team. The nurse carries out physician-ordered procedures and monitoring while maintaining thorough, timely documentation in the patient's medical record. Medication administration is a core responsibility, including observing therapeutic response and acting quickly when an unintended reaction occurs. The nurse also serves as a primary educator for patients, families, and caregivers — translating complex medical terminology into clear guidance on diagnoses, treatment plans, medications, potential side effects, and follow-up care.

- Associate Degree or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
- (RN) Registered Nurse licensure
- 1 year of RN experience required (does not need to be in acute care)
- Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
Schedule. Days with rotating weekends and nights with rotating weekends are both available.
Compensation. $27.72 - $39.60/hr
