Brewer/Cellar Operator – Harpoon Brewery (Windsor, VT)Barrel One Collective (B1C), the parent company of Harpoon is seeking a skilled Brewer/Cellar Operator to join our production team in Windsor, VT. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced brewing professional to contribute to a growing craft operation and play a hands-on role in producing high-quality beer. The ideal candidate has strong technical skills, experience in both brewhouse and cellar operations, and a commitment to quality, safety, and continuous improvement.About the RoleThe Brewer/Cellar Operator is responsible for executing the day-to-day brewing and cellar functions required to produce consistent, high-quality beer. This includes wort production, fermentation management, filtration, yeast handling, tank CIP, and general facility upkeep. This role is full-time, non-exempt, and requires flexibility, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to maintain accuracy in a fast-paced production environment.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform all cellar operations, including CIP, CUP, sanitizing fermenters and brite tanks, yeast brinks, dry hopping, gravity readings, yeast cell counts, keg racking, and general tank managementStart up and shut down facility processes for both brewhouse and cellar functionsOperate filtration equipment, perform filtration procedures, and sanitize lines and filtersExecute all aspects of wort production, including milling, hop and ingredient additions, antifoam and spice additions, and sample collection for lab analysisMaintain turbidity, CO2, and O2 levels within product specifications; conduct dilution and flavor checksKeep all brewhouse vessels and cellar areas in clean, tour-ready conditionDocument all production steps accurately; maintain daily logs, quality checks, and batch recordsCommunicate issues promptly to the Head Brewer and Senior Brewer; support cross-department communication when neededParticipate in taste panel evaluations and ensure product quality standards are upheldContribute to meetings, continuous improvement initiatives, and a positive team environmentMaintain a safe, organized, and compliant workspace in accordance with company policies and safety standardsSupport other departments and assist with additional tasks as neededQualifications and RequirementsMinimum 2 years of experience in brewing or beverage manufacturingStrong mechanical aptitude and ability to work around moving machinery and complex systemsAbility to multitask, prioritize changing demands, and maintain strong attention to detailFlexibility to work varied shifts as neededProper use and understanding of PPEForklift certification preferred (or ability to obtain)Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. to shoulder height, stand for extended periods, work in tight spaces, climb stairs, and tolerate varying temperaturesWorking ConditionsThis position requires physical work in a production environment with exposure to heat, cold, moisture, moving equipment, chemicals used in cleaning and sanitizing, and elevated heights.
