Help Build Confidence, Safety & Lifelong SkillsThe YMCA of the Black Hills is seeking enthusiastic, dependable, and community-minded Swim Instructors to join our Aquatics team. In this role, you'll help children and participants of all ages develop swimming skills, water safety awareness, and confidence in the water - all while creating a fun, welcoming, and supportive environment.Whether you have previous teaching experience or simply enjoy working with people and have strong swimming skills, we encourage you to apply.Position ResponsibilitiesLead swim lessons in accordance with YMCA aquatic safety standards and program guidelinesTeach swimming techniques and water safety skills to participants of varying ages and abilitiesCreate a positive, patient, and engaging learning environmentMaintain active supervision and prioritize participant safety at all timesBuild positive relationships with swimmers, parents, members, and fellow staffComplete attendance, progress reports, and incident documentation accuratelyAssist with maintaining pool cleanliness, equipment organization, and aquatic safety standardsPerform routine pool testing and communicate concerns to Aquatics leadershipSupport a welcoming and inclusive YMCA environment for all participantsQualificationsComfortable working in and around waterStrong communication and interpersonal skillsPositive attitude and ability to work with children and familiesReliable, attentive, and safety-focusedPrevious swim instruction, coaching, or aquatic experience preferred but not requiredAbility to follow YMCA policies, procedures, and training standardsWhy Work at the YMCA of the Black Hills?At the YMCA, you'll be part of a mission-driven organization dedicated to strengthening the community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility.
