As an Ophthalmic Scribe you will work alongside physician dictating into the patient's chart and assist physician with minor in-office procedures. Schedule (part-time): Wednesday: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PMFriday: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PMNote: This position averages 16 hours per weekWhat you will be doingBring patients to and from exam roomsPerform detailed documentation of patient work ups and OD/MD comments in patient's electronic medical recordComplete patient encounter form based on determined diagnosisApply drops to anesthetize, dilate, or medicate eyesProvide chair-side physician assistance and administer treatment as allowed and ordered by the physicianReview care instructions with patientsComplete a detailed patient history including past medical history, family medical history and chief complaintCheck patient's visual acuity which includes far acuity, near acuity, peripheral vision, depth perception, and color perceptionExamine eyes for abnormalitiesPerform other tests and measurements including A-scans, B-scans, fundus photography, corneal topography, HRTII and pachymetryMeasures intraocular pressure of eyes (glaucoma test)Read patient's eyeglass prescription with automated lensometryPrep exam rooms for treatmentMaintain patient confidentiality following HIPAA regulationsDemonstrate basic knowledge of eye anatomy, disease, symptoms & ocular medicationsStay current with the latest technologies and medications and be able to answer general patient questionsWhat you knowRequiredHigh school diploma or GED equivalentValid driver's license and ability to drive a motor vehicleEfficient computer skills and ability to type 40+ words per minuteDesiredExperience working as a Medical ScribeElectronic Medical Records (EMR) experienceKnowledge of medical terminologyPrior ophthalmology, optical or eyecare experience About Midwest Vision PartnersMidwest Vision Partners was founded in 2019 to build a premier eye care platform in partnership with Alpine Investors, a San Francisco-based private equity firm.
