Position Overview
The Finance Coordinator supports the financial operations of Wesley Glen Ministries by managing day-to-day accounting activities, maintaining accurate financial records, assisting with financial reporting, and ensuring compliance with organizational policies and procedures. This position serves as the primary operational accounting resource and works closely with the Senior Director of Finance.
Key Responsibilities
Accounts Payable & Vendor Management
- Review and process vendor invoices
- Coordinate BILL.com payment workflows and ensure invoices are routed for appropriate approval
- Maintain accurate vendor records and W-9 documentation
- Respond to and resolve vendor inquiries in a timely and professional manner
- Assist with 1099 preparation and related documentation
Accounting Functions
- Perform bank reconciliations and investigate discrepancies
- Perform credit card reconciliations and maintain supporting documentation
- Prepare and record journal entries as needed
- Maintain accurate general ledger records
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities
Financial Reporting
- Prepare financial schedules and supporting documentation
- Support budget monitoring and identify variances or items requiring follow-up
- Assist with audit preparation and provide requested financial documentation
- Maintain organized and accurate financial records in accordance with organizational policies and procedures
Team Support
- Assist in training and providing day-to-day guidance to the Financial Assistant
- Coordinate with the Financial Assistant to ensure timely completion of routine finance activities
- Support process improvements that increase accuracy, efficiency, and internal controls within the Finance Department
- Perform other finance-related duties as assigned by the Senior Director of Finance
Qualifications
- Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field required
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- Minimum of 3–5 years of accounting experience
- Nonprofit accounting experience preferred
- Demonstrated ability to maintain accurate financial records and manage multiple priorities
- Accuracy and attention to detail

- Effective written and verbal communication
- Problem-solving and analytical skills
- Ability to work collaboratively and independently
