The Preschool Place & Kindergarten is seeking a warm, reliable, and energetic Before Care Supervisor to join our team. This part-time morning position is perfect for a college student, retiree, parent, or anyone looking for meaningful work in a nurturing preschool environment.
As our Before Care Supervisor, you will help open the school, welcome children and families, and create a safe, caring, and engaging start to each child's day while supporting our director and teaching staff.
Schedule
- Monday-Friday
- 6:45 AM – 9:30 AM
- September through June
- Follows the Bridgewater-Raritan School District calendar
- Additional hours may be available
What You'll Do
- Open the school each morning and prepare the learning environment for the day.
- Create a welcoming, safe, and nurturing atmosphere for children during Before Care.
- Supervise and actively engage children in age-appropriate activities.
- Maintain classroom organization, cleanliness, and readiness.
- Support smooth daily transitions from home to preschool.
- Assist with morning arrival and drop-off procedures while ensuring student safety.
- Build positive relationships with children, families, and staff.
- Communicate with parents through informal conversations and our family communication app.
- Encourage independence, self-help skills, and healthy hygiene habits through positive role modeling.
- Follow all school policies, licensing regulations, and health and safety procedures.
- Participate in ongoing professional development and training opportunities.
- Work collaboratively as part of a supportive preschool team.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Early Childhood experience preferred (1 year or more)
- Understanding of child development
- Dependable, punctual, and responsible
- High energy and enthusiasm
- Strong leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Basic computer skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to pass a background check and required health screening
- CPR and First Aid Certification preferred (training provided if needed)
