Key Responsibilities
As a Wastewater Field Technician, you’ll support the operations of municipal wastewater treatment facilities by:
- Coordinating and scheduling sample pickups to meet lab deadlines.
- Collecting wastewater samples from treatment plants and transport sites according to strict safety and environmental protocols.
- Ensuring accurate and complete documentation on all sample bottles and accompanying paperwork.
- Delivering samples to designated labs and maintaining chain-of-custody protocols.
- Supporting data integrity by verifying deliveries and collecting required signatures.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Environmental Science, Microbiology, Engineering, or a related field.
- Licensing: Valid driver’s license required.
- Experience: Previous work with wastewater systems or municipal utility districts is a plus. Familiarity with sampling protocols and GIS software (ArcGIS or QGIS) is preferred.
- Attributes: Detail-oriented, reliable, punctual, and committed to safety and quality in the field.
Physical Demands
- Ability to lift and carry up to 150 lbs.
- Comfortable with long driving periods and frequent physical activity (bending, walking, standing).
- Able to work in all types of weather conditions, including heat, cold, and rain.
Compensation & Benefits
- Hourly Pay: $26.00/hour
- Schedule: Full-time
