Reporting to IT leadership, this individual will administer the firm’s systems, software, hardware, user access, and internal support operations while helping implement broader technology initiatives.

The ideal candidate is technically capable, highly organized, and comfortable balancing user support with system administration and project work. This person should take ownership of assigned issues and initiatives, troubleshoot effectively, and ensure projects are carried through to full completion.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer and maintain the firm’s IT systems, hardware, software, cloud-based platforms, and business applications.
  • Manage incoming support tickets and resolve hardware, software, access, and system-related issues with minimal disruption to business operations.
  • Troubleshoot complex technical issues and coordinate with IT leadership or external vendors when escalation is required.
  • Monitor system performance, reliability, security, and utilization, identifying potential issues and recommending improvements.
  • Support the deployment, configuration, testing, and implementation of new systems, applications, and technology services.
  • Administer user accounts, system permissions, access controls, password-management tools, and other established security protocols.
  • Standardize and manage device configuration, equipment deployment, and employee onboarding and offboarding processes.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of system configurations, processes, procedures, assets, licenses, and user access.
  • Help administer the firm’s software ecosystem, including application configuration, user support, license tracking, renewals, and utilization.
  • Assist with software evaluations, system migrations, application consolidation, and technology vendor coordination.
  • Partner with IT leadership and business stakeholders to understand operational needs and help implement practical technology solutions.
  • Identify inefficient or manual workflows and assist with implementing system improvements, integrations, or automation.
  • Support internal ticketing processes and help improve response times, escalation procedures, workflows, and service quality.
  • Lead IT projects from planning through implementation, testing, documentation, deployment, and post-launch support.
  • Ensure assigned implementations are fully completed, properly configured, documented, and adopted by end users.
  • Stay informed of technology and security best practices relevant to the firm’s environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Five or more years of experience in systems administration, IT operations, infrastructure support, or a similar role.
  • Experience supporting a company-wide technology environment that includes hardware, software, cloud-based systems, and business applications.
  • Strong knowledge of computer systems, user administration, access controls, security practices, networking, and systems infrastructure.
  • Demonstrated experience troubleshooting hardware, software, account-access, and system-performance issues.
  • Experience implementing, configuring, or migrating business software and technology solutions.
  • Strong project-management and organizational skills, with the ability to balance support requests and longer-term initiatives.
  • Excellent critical-thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong attention to detail, particularly when managing configurations, permissions, documentation, and data.
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to nontechnical users and business stakeholders.
  • Self-motivated and capable of working independently while operating within the strategy and direction established by IT leadership.
  • Strong follow-through and commitment to completing projects and resolving issues thoroughly.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting a law firm or other professional-services environment.
  • Experience with Box, QuickBooks, legal practice-management systems, document-management platforms, or similar business applications.
  • Experience with workflow-automation tools, APIs, or system integrations.
  • Experience supporting software migrations or application-consolidation projects.
  • Familiarity with IT asset management, vendor coordination, and software-license administration.
