About This Role

Our academy is dedicated to creating a supportive, engaging, and intellectually stimulating environment for young children. Our infant and 1-year-old program focuses on nurturing social, emotional, cognitive, physical, and language skills.

We are seeking a skilled teacher who will lead our classroom, plan and implement engaging lessons, supervise assistant teachers, assess student progress, collaborate with parents, ensure compliance with Florida’s standards, and maintain a learning environment that fosters growth and development. This role demands a candidate with experience in classroom management and handling challenging instructional and behavioral situations.



What You'll Do

  • Curate, design, and execute an engaging curriculum aligned with Florida Standards that caters to the unique needs of infants and 1-year-olds.
  • Develop and implement lesson plans, schedules, and activities that promote comprehensive development: social, emotional, physical, and intellectual.
  • Supervise, mentor, and provide guidance to assistant teachers and aides in ensuring the smooth operation of the classroom.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and well-organized classroom environment, adapting learning centers to meet developmental needs.
  • Regularly observe, assess, and document children’s progress, identifying milestones and providing interventions as necessary.
  • Communicate effectively with parents about their child’s development, engage in parent-teacher conferences, and respond to concerns and questions.
  • Ensure adherence to all state regulations, licensing requirements, health and safety standards (including CPR and First Aid certifications, background checks, etc.).
  • Accurately document and maintain records of attendance, incident reports, developmental assessments, lesson plans, and other important data.
  • Actively participate in staff meetings, workshops, and professional development to stay updated on best practices in early childhood education.
  • Collaborate with center leaders and teachers to support program quality, contribute to enrollment, retention, and center goals.


Requirements

Required Qualifications:

  • CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
  • Ability to pass state background checks and meet licensing requirements.
  • Minimum of 1 year in childcare space preferably in a toddler room
  • Florida's teacher credential requirements (this may include VPK Certification, DCF 45-Hour training, or equivalent).
  • Patience, creativity, flexibility, and a nurturing disposition.
  • Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.
  • Previous experience teaching preschool or VPK, with demonstrated experience leading a classroom.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience (mentoring, supervising staff).
  • Strong knowledge of child development principles and Florida standards.
  • Ability to move around the classroom frequently, assist with children, sit/kneel/squat.
  • Ability to lift and carry children or materials (up to regulatory limits).
  • Stand for extended periods; interact actively in play and learning.


Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual skills (preferred).
  • Experience with assessment tools (observational assessments, screening, progress tracking).
