About This Role

The School Aide plays a vital role in creating a nurturing environment for children, supporting Teachers and the Director in their daily tasks. This individual must be able to effectively communicate, listen, and collaborate with others as part of a cohesive team. Key responsibilities include assisting in the implementation of quality educational programs, fostering positive relationships with children and their parents, and observing and documenting children's progress. The School Aide also assumes various administrative tasks, such as working in the main office and substituting in classes, and contributes to the development of children's skills through activities tailored to their interests and needs.



What You'll Do

  • Encourage participation in curricula activities and engage children in various learning experiences.
  • Ensure the classroom remains organized, clean, and well-maintained, and that materials are available as needed.
  • Maintain regular contact with parents through informal discussions and progress reports.
  • Model good behavior to encourage self-help and personal hygiene in the children.
  • Facilitate a smooth transition from home to the child care center.
  • Adhere to all center policies and state regulations.
  • Develop and implement a personal professional development plan to enhance continuous quality improvement.


Requirements

  • Must clear full background check and must pass health screening.
  • Ability to work well with others.
  • Infant/child CPR and First Aid certification.
  • High School Diploma
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills and basic computer skills.
  • An understanding of child development.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of professional child care experience.
  • High energy.


Nice To Haves

  • Ability to work with Microsoft suite and other relevant software.
  • Possession of a Preschool Child Development Associate (CDA) credential or willingness to pursue one.
