About This Role

The Teacher Assistant plays a pivotal role in supporting the Teachers and the Director in creating a nurturing and secure environment for children, fostering an atmosphere of quality education through active participation and collaboration. Effective communication, active listening, and teamwork are essential in this role, as the Teacher Assistant assists staff in implementing a quality educational program, developing positive relationships with children and their parents, and documenting children's interests and progress. Under the guidance of the Teacher and the Director, the Teacher Assistant designs and implements activities tailored to children's interests and needs, ensuring a developmentally appropriate learning experience.



What You'll Do

  • Encourage active participation in curricula activities and maintain a clean and organized classroom environment.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with parents through regular progress reports and informal discussions.
  • Model self-help and good hygiene behaviors to encourage children to adopt healthy habits.
  • Ensure a smooth transition from home to child care center by establishing clear routines and expectations.
  • Actively engage with children, staff, and parents to promote a sense of community and teamwork.
  • Adhere to all center policies and state regulations to maintain a safe and healthy environment.
  • Establish and maintain a personal professional development plan to continually improve quality of care and education.


Requirements

  • Must have at least one year of professional experience in child care.
  • Strong energy levels.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with others.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, as well as basic computer skills.
  • Understanding of child development principles.
  • Exceptional leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • CPR and First Aid certification for infants and children.
  • Must pass a full background check and a health screening.
