Position SummaryThe Engineering Manager leads the complete new product development lifecycle from project award through production readiness and manufacturing handoff. This role oversees Engineering, Project Management, and Tool Room operations while ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in compliance with quality and customer requirements. The position combines hands-on technical leadership with people management, supporting injection molding, metal injection molding (MIM), CNC machining, tooling, automation, and manufacturing process development.
Main Duties & ResponsibilitiesLead new product development projects from project kickoff through engineering, tooling, validation, and production launch.
Manage Engineering, Project Management, and Tool Room teams while driving performance, accountability, and resource planning.
Oversee tooling development, process validation, manufacturability, automation, and technical problem-solving.
Partner with Sales and Business Development on technical reviews, quoting, manufacturability assessments, and customer support.
Ensure compliance with ISO 9001, ITAR requirements, project budgets, schedules, and successful manufacturing handoffs.
Injection Molding, Metal Injection Molding (MIM), and CNC Manufacturing (3, 4, and 5-axis)
Engineering Leadership, Project Management, and Tool Room Oversight
CAD, GD&T, DFM, FMEA, Process Validation, and Manufacturing Optimization
Mold/Tool Design and Mastercam Programming
Candidates must demonstrate direct, hands-on experience in at least one of the following, backed by specific, verifiable project examples (not just familiarity or oversight-level exposure):
Hands-on plastics processing expertise: able to run scientific molding directly at the machine, including setting and troubleshooting process parameters.
Full tool/mold design experience: capable of designing injection molding tooling start to finish.
Or, Mastercam expertise at a demonstrated, expert level, combined with engineering and management experience to support it.
CNC machining experience across 3, 4, and 5-axis work is required in addition to the above.
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related engineering discipline (or equivalent experience).
Minimum of 7 years of experience in injection molding, MIM, CNC machining, or related manufacturing engineering.
Experience leading engineering teams, project managers, and tooling operations.
Strong knowledge of CAD, GD&T, DFM, FMEA, validation processes, and ERP systems.
Experience working within ISO 9001 and ITAR-regulated manufacturing environments.
U.S. citizenship required for ITAR compliance.
Master's degree, PMP certification, or experience in medical device, aerospace, defense, robotics, or automation is preferred.
