About This Role
This infant room teacher role combines foundational care with early discovery, supporting infants aged 8 weeks to 18 months in a safe and stimulating environment. You'll work alongside lead teachers to ensure a nurturing and exploratory space where children can grow and thrive from the moment they arrive.
What You'll Do
- Safe and Caring Environment: Meet every infant's physical and emotional needs, creating a secure and loving atmosphere.
- Developmental Stimulation: Implement engaging, hands-on activities that promote motor skills, language, and social interaction, fostering a lifelong love of learning.
- Sanctuary Maintenance: Contribute to maintaining a clean, organized, and safe home-away-from-home, adhering to the highest health and safety standards.
- Education and Materials: Organize and maintain educational materials and equipment tailored to infant development.
- Communication and Support: Engage positively with parents, providing heart-centered updates on their child's milestones and progress.
- Professional Growth: Participate in continuous learning and team meetings to enhance skills in early childhood excellence.
Requirements
- Educational Background: Currently hold an Associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field (Bachelor’s degree preferred).
- Communication: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to connect effectively with children, parents, and colleagues.
- Team Spirit: A collaborative mindset and the ability to follow guidance while bringing your own passion to the classroom.
- Professional Competencies: Proactive self-starter who demonstrates a continuous growth mindset and a commitment to process improvement.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to engage in the standing, bending, and lifting required to keep our infants safe and engaged.
- Heart & Soul: Patience, compassion, and a genuine interest in supporting the growth of our infants.
- Essentials: First Aid/CPR certification and the ability to pass all required background clearances.
Schedule:
- Shift: Consistent coverage for our 1st shift (between 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM).
- Availability: Full-time or Part-time options available; may include occasional academy events outside of regular hours.
Nice To Haves
- Foundational knowledge of Montessori or STEAM educational frameworks, with a proven ability to adapt and excel in specialized learning environments is strongly preferred. Previous experience working with infants in a childcare setting is also preferred.
