About the Role
As an Administrative Assistant, you'll play an essential role in supporting the daily operations of the funeral home while providing compassionate, professional service to the families in our care. You'll be one of the first points of contact for families, guiding them through the administrative aspects of honoring and celebrating their loved one's life with empathy, professionalism, and attention to detail.
Working alongside Funeral Directors and company leadership, you'll prepare and maintain accurate records, ensure compliance with state laws and regulations, and help coordinate the day-to-day administrative operations of the funeral home. You'll also oversee a variety of operational responsibilities, including managing office supplies, company vehicles, equipment, and facility needs to help create an organized, efficient, and welcoming environment.
Some evenings, weekends, and on call may be required based on business needs.
What You'll Do
Administrative & Operational Support
- Provide compassionate administrative support to families, serving as a welcoming first point of contact both in person and over the phone
- Partner with Funeral Directors to prepare and maintain documentation, ensuring compliance with state laws and regulatory requirements
- Coordinate daily office operations, including managing supplies, records, equipment, and administrative processes to support an efficient workplace
- Prepare correspondence, reports, and other documentation while maintaining accurate and organized records
- Assist with office administration, including filing, data entry, mail, and general clerical support
- Coordinate with the Home Office on company vehicle management and other operational needs
- Support a collaborative team environment by assisting with additional administrative and operational responsibilities as needed
What You’ll Bring
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; prior administrative or office support experience preferred
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a compassionate, customer-focused approach
- Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to learn new technology and software systems.
- Self-motivated with sound judgment, professionalism, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively
