ABOUT THE ROLE
The Automation Engineer supports automation and controls systems within a regulated (GMP) operating environment, applying an engineering background (Electrical, Chemical, Computer, Mechanical, or Industrial) to automation/controls activities. The role requires availability to work or provide support to a 24/7 operation.
REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS
Required
- Education: BS in Engineering (Electrical, Chemical, Computer, Mechanical, or Industrial).
- Experience: 1–4 years of experience with demonstrated learning agility, or 5–10 years of proven experience in a similar automation/controls position. Salary commensurate with experience.
- Computer Systems Validation: Computer systems validation experience in regulated (GMP) operations.
- Data Analysis: Strong data analysis skills (Excel and alarm management/reporting tools such as Logmate).
- Problem Solving: Logical, systematic approach to problem solving, with the ability to manage multiple priorities based on business needs.
- Communication: Strong communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Availability: Available to work or provide support to a 24/7 operation.
Preferred
- Automation Systems: Experience and knowledge of DeltaV, Rockwell Automation PLC/HMI, and instrumentation (smart and conventional) is highly recommended.
- Alarm Management: Prior experience with alarm management or rationalization studies (e.g., ISA-18.2 / EEMUA 191 principles) is strongly preferred.
- Change Control: Experience managing change controls within an electronic quality system (Veeva Vault or equivalent) is preferred.
