Heavy Equipment Diagnostic Shop Mechanic
Job Description
Step into a shop where technology powers every move. At EquipmentShare, you’ll maintain and repair a broad mix of earthmoving machinery and aerial lifts while working with one of the newest fleets in the industry. Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–5:00 PM, with overtime after 40 hours; periodic on-call rotation includes additional compensation.
A day in your life- Start by opening your tablet to review work orders you created and assigned through our T3 platform.
- Use real-time machine data across hundreds of makes and models to pinpoint root causes quickly and plan corrective actions.
- Perform hands-on diagnostics and repairs on mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems for both rental and customer-owned equipment.
- Order parts, track service intervals, and keep meticulous electronic documentation of everything you complete—every day.
- Coach junior techs when needed and support the team with occasional parts/equipment pick-up and delivery.
- Lean into safe work practices and apply OSHA knowledge (preferred) to every task.

- Ownership of tools appropriate for the role.
- Advanced mechanical aptitude and strong familiarity with shop tools.
- Deep knowledge of construction equipment, including the ability to read and interpret schematics/diagrams.
- Excellent customer service, teamwork, and clear written/verbal communication.
- High school diploma required; trade school certificate preferred.
- Experience in field service, maintenance, or repair preferred.
- Comfort moving, standing, stooping, and bending throughout the day.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs as needed.
