Administrator
Job Description
The Administrator is directly accountable to the operator for operating and maintaining the facility in compliance with the applicable requirements of the Department of Health.
The administrator shall be capable of and responsible for the following:
1. Supervision of the facility.
2. Operation of the facility in compliance with law and regulations.
3. Recruitment and general supervision of staff and volunteers.
4. Supervision of resident services.
5. Admission, transfer and discharge of residents.
6. Coordination with and development of community activities and services for residents.
7. Maintenance of community relations.
8. Protection of residents’ rights and development of appropriate mechanisms for their protection; and
9. Maintenance of a system to enable residents to present grievances or recommendations regarding facility operations and programs.
A. RESIDENTS:
1. Oversee Resident care – personal hygiene, grooming period of adjustment.
2. Conduct prospective resident interviews in hospitals, rehab centers, and homes as necessary.
3. Record admissions, discharges, case management notes, and incident reports.
4. Review resident’s yearly medical evaluation.
5. Review resident’s medications and charts.
6. Visits doctor’s office as necessary.
7. Coordinate between physicians and family to address and resolve issues as necessary.
B. STAFF:
1. Conducts interviews, provide orientation, probationary period for all new employees.
2. Staff supervision
3. Staff performance evaluation
4. Staff schedule
5. Schedule initial and monthly staff in-services.
6. Staff conferences as necessary
7. Yearly physical examinations
8. Attendance, punctuality and absenteeism (pattern)
9. Dress code (white uniform, white shoes, neat and tidy appearance)
C. RECREATION:
1. Budget
2. Oversee activity person’s program with the residents
3. Presence of volunteer services (priests, caregivers and entertainers)
4. Residents need to be walked outside if weather is good
5. Make sure that the activity person’ monthly schedule is posted. Schedule for the following month should be ready by the 15th of the current month.
D. LAUNDRY
1. All residents’ clothes are to be labeled before admission.
2. Linens are changed once a week by all shift.
3. Personal clothes are to be sorted out by colors to maintain and preserve quality of the same.
4. All shifts are involved in doing laundry and folding.
5. Personal clothes are put away by the morning staff.
6. Linen close is to be kept eat and in order. However, the night staff is responsible for upkeep of the linen closets.
