About This Role
We are seeking a compassionate and reliable Assistant Childcare Teacher to support the Lead Teacher in creating a secure, supportive, and stimulating environment for children. The ideal candidate will help with classroom activities, supervision, and daily care routines while fostering a positive and engaging atmosphere. Pay is based on experience.
What You'll Do
Classroom Support & Child Engagement:
- Support the Lead Teacher in planning and executing activities that promote learning and development.
- Interact with children through play, stories, songs, and hands-on activities to encourage their growth.
- Help children develop social skills and self-regulation skills by promoting positive relationships and emotional well-being.
- Ensure the children's safety and well-being at all times by maintaining a secure and healthy environment.
- Assist with daily routines such as mealtime, hygiene, and rest.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the classroom and play areas.
- Collaborate with the Lead Teacher and other staff members to create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment.
- Communicate effectively with parents and caregivers about daily activities and child progress.
- Follow all center policies, licensing regulations, and safety procedures.
- Attend staff meetings and training sessions to stay updated on best practices.
- Be open to learning and implementing new strategies in early childhood education.
- Support the Lead Teacher in preparing materials and setting up activities.
Requirements
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Certifications: CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills are required.
- Ability to work collaboratively with staff, families, and children is essential.
- Additional requirements will be discussed prior to the first day of working with children.
Nice To Haves
- Experience working with children is highly valued.
- CPR certification is a plus.
- The Wisconsin Registry Certificate is a desirable asset.
