About This Role

The Toddler Teacher position is a vital role at Gingerbread House, requiring a highly dedicated and nurturing individual to manage the classroom environment in accordance with state regulations. This key role involves introducing young children to engaging activities while ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.



What You'll Do

  • Develop a welcoming classroom atmosphere that promotes children's emotional and physical comfort.
  • Collaborate with the team to maintain exceptional quality standards in the classroom.
  • Implement childcare routines in a timely, hygienic, and consistent manner, adhering to Missouri State Licensing Rules and Regulations. This encompasses tasks such as diapering, hand washing, sanitation, eating, napping, and transitioning between activities.
  • Proactively safeguard children through vigilant supervision, thoughtful arrangement of space, proper maintenance of equipment, and regular practice of emergency procedures such as fire drills.
  • Maintain a healthy and safe classroom environment by upholding high standards of hygiene, cleanliness, and child safety.


Requirements

  1. Complete a full background check and pass a health screening
  2. Willing to complete infant/child CPR and First Aid training
  3. The ability to work well with others (staff, children, and parents) and to foster a team environment.
  4. Able to use hands and fingers, handle objects, tools or controls, talk to and hear voices at many levels. May also be required to kneel, bend, squat, crawl and take frequent walks
  5. Must be at least 18 years of age and have a high school diploma
  6. Must have a warm supportive attitude towards children


Nice To Haves

  • 2 years of professional child care experience at a licensed center
  • Associate’s Degree in early childhood education or related field of study with a minimum of 30 Credits in ECE
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • 12+ Clock Hours in Continuing Education
