I. SUMMARY OF POSITION:Responsible for the overall management and delivery of integrated engineering, procurement and construction of large and medium capital projects while remaining aligned with the strategy, commitments and goals of the organization. This will include leadership, direction, coordination, implementation, execution, control and completion of these projects. In addition to the technical aspects, this responsibility demands maintaining good business relationships built on a foundation of reliable performance and earned respect. II. RESPONSIBILITIES:Identify and clearly communicate project goals, scope and deliverablesPlan, develop, document, and implement project executionEnsure on-time delivery of project deliverablesIdentify and manage project changes, variances, and take corrective actions as needed Understand and comply with the Polaris' Business Policies and ProceduresUnderstand and deliver contractual obligations and key performance indicators (KPI) set out in the Polaris EPC Contracts and Execution StrategiesSet direction, prioritize, and coordinate the management of all interfaces required to deliver a complete project to the client, including HSSE, engineering, procurement, construction and third party servicesLeads in the development and performance management of all Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) Scopes of Work from inception through to completion and commercial closeoutLeads the weekly Polaris/Client project meeting ensuring that reports and Team's Action Trackers are updated weeklyManage the Project Risk Register ensuring that all actions are driven to closure and updated on the Project Risk RegisterDevelop accurate and continuous performance management baseline schedules, progress measurement and reporting for the various WBS scopes of work, and ensure delivery of key contract KPI milestones which have an impact on project/business profitabilityDevelop accurate and performance management of the estimates, expenditure, forecasts and reporting for the various project scopes of work to all stakeholdersProactively escalate issues that require intervention in a timely manner and explore possible ways of finding a solutionTakes personal responsibility for promoting and supporting continuous improvement activities within all aspects of the businessActively seeks to develop and maintain business relationships based on open and honest communication underpinned by reliable proactive performance, expectation management and earned respectProactively facilitate the resolution of cross discipline technical issuesMotivates and develops a high performing team with a 'be safe', 'mistake free' culture and a drive for continuous improvementProactively drives project technical and commercial closeout so that new work can be brought into the portfolioWork alongside other project managers to ensure the overall portfolio of projects are delivered in accordance with the contract KPIsAccountable for existing client relationships and the completion of Polaris' business-related activities that maintains a sustainable position in the industry for business continuityLead the development of technical proposals in support of bids for new businessKnowledge of and adherence to Polaris' project management systems and procedures relevant to the roleEnsure that purchase order coverage, unbilled revenue, project closeout, project profitability and other commercial risks are continuously monitored and mitigated to safeguard both Polaris' and the client's business objectives.Ensure timesheets are completed and approved on a weekly basisOther responsibilities as assigned III. MIMIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelors degree in Engineering or related discipline20+ years' experience with 10+ years as a project manager and 15 years of Project Management in the petroleum industry (Oil/Gas, Chemical and Refining)Project Management Qualification: Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM), or equivalent experience as a project manager, preferredExperience in strategic planning, risk management and/or change managementExperience in an engineering design companyCompetent in a relevant technical disciplineAvailable for short-term travelSkills:Ability to provide direction to, lead, and supervise othersEffective communicationLeadership and problem-solvingTime managementEarned Value ManagementContract negotiationConflict resolution experienceProficiency in project management software and tools IV. REPORTING REQUIREMENTS:Reports directly to the Director of Projects V. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computerMust be able to lift to 40 pounds at times
