Key Responsibilities We Will Trust You With:

Perform production testing on flow measurement products in the Flow Research & Test Center (FRTC), including Ultrasonic, Turbine, and Positive Displacement metering technologies. Work collaboratively with Lab Technicians and cross-functional teams to configure test setups, execute testing activities, maintain laboratory equipment, and ensure compliance with safety, quality, and ISO accreditation requirements. Promote a safe work environment and support continuous improvement initiatives while safeguarding the environment through compliance with company policies and applicable regulations.

What You Will Be Doing:

Responsibilities – Code 9

  • Set up and remove piping configurations based on test specifications.
  • Prepare components and products for testing in accordance with engineering specifications, test plans, and work instructions.
  • Conduct production and development testing and accurately record results.
  • Assemble and disassemble production meter test kits within facility test housings.
  • Assist with routine master meter verification utilizing small volume provers.
  • Support atypical production testing required to meet customer requirements.
  • Perform daily safety walks and participate in monthly safety inspections.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Cooperate with and support other departments utilizing FRTC resources.
  • Identify, correct when possible, and report unsafe conditions immediately.
  • Adhere to all safety, quality, environmental, and company policies and procedure

Responsibilities – Code 10

  • Performs all duties of Code 9, plus:
  • Perform fluid changes on multi-viscosity test systems.
  • Conduct system valve testing to verify block and bleed seal integrity.

Your Areas of Knowledge and Expertise that matter most for this role:

Education & Experience

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Two years of meter testing, manufacturing, mechanical assembly, industrial maintenance, or related technical experience preferred.
  • Mechanical aptitude with strong troubleshooting and analytical problem-solving skills.
  • Experience utilizing hand tools, measuring devices, and industrial equipment preferred.
  • Basic computer skills required.
  • Ability to read and interpret work instructions, specifications, and technical documentation.
  • Ability to work safely around pressurized systems and industrial equipment.

Progression Requirements:

This position requires progression from Code 9 to Code 10. Employees must successfully complete all training and qualification requirements established by FRTC leadership and documented under the laboratory's ISO 17025 accreditation program. Progression must be completed within eighteen (18) months of placement into the Code 9 classification. Failure to successfully complete required training, qualifications, and progression milestones may result in removal from the classification in accordance with applicable policies and the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Key Interactions

Internally: Collaborate with Production, Engineering, Quality, Warehouse, Supply Chain, Customer Service, Laboratory Technicians, Environmental Health & Safety, and Operations Leadership to coordinate testing activities, maintain production schedules, support customer requirements, and ensure compliance with quality and safety standards.

Externally: Interact with customers, auditors, equipment vendors, service providers, and certification representatives regarding testing requirements, laboratory accreditation activities, equipment performance, and technical support needs.

Work Environment:

Work is performed primarily within a manufacturing and laboratory environment with occasional office work. Employees may be exposed to high-pressure systems, chemicals, moving machinery, elevated noise levels, adverse weather conditions, confined spaces, heavy lifting operations, and shop or facility traffic. Required personal protective equipment must be worn while performing assigned duties.

This position requires frequent standing, walking, bending, stooping, kneeling, and lifting throughout the workday. The incumbent must be able to safely handle materials, piping, test equipment, and production components while working in a manufacturing and laboratory environment. The ability to wear required personal protective equipment and safely work around pressurized systems, industrial equipment, and varying environmental conditions is required
