Position Type: Contract (Full-Time Hours)

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM

Work Model: Hybrid (minimum one work-from-home day per week)

Position Summary

Recovery Associates Group is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC/LPC/LCSW or equivalent) to join our growing practice and to provide trauma-informed, evidence-based mental health services to individuals and families. This is a contract position offering full-time hours, providing both in-person and telehealth services in a supportive, client-centered environment.

The ideal candidate is experienced in delivering high-quality therapeutic services across diverse populations and is comfortable facilitating both group and individual therapy sessions.



Key Responsibilities

Clinical Services

  • Provide individual and group counseling services using evidence-based and trauma-informed approaches
  • Conduct clinical assessments, biopsychosocial evaluations, and individualized treatment planning
  • Address issues including trauma, anxiety, depression, substance use, emotional regulation, and life stressors
  • Maintain therapeutic relationships grounded in trust, accountability, and professional boundaries



Trauma-Informed Care

  • Integrate trauma-informed principles, including safety, trustworthiness, empowerment, collaboration, and cultural humility
  • Recognize the impact of adverse life experiences and respond with clinically appropriate interventions
  • Support clients in developing coping strategies, resilience, and emotional regulation skills



Documentation and Compliance

  • Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential clinical documentation in accordance with state, federal, and organizational requirements
  • Adhere to all ethical standards, licensing regulations, and organizational policies
  • Participate in supervision, case reviews, and quality assurance activities as required



Collaboration and Professional Engagement

  • Collaborate with other clinicians, case managers, and community partners as appropriate
  • Participate in multidisciplinary meetings and contribute to coordinated care planning
  • Provide consultation and clinical input to support client outcomes

Required Qualifications

  • Active, unrestricted licenses as LMHC, LPC, LCSW, or equivalent in the State of Tennessee (or license-eligible with supervision, if applicable)
  • Minimum of one (1) year of inpatient clinical experience required
  • Master’s degree in counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field
  • Minimum (2) years of clinical experience providing mental health services
  • Demonstrated experience with trauma-informed treatment
  • Strong clinical judgment, communication, and documentation skills
  • Experience with group therapy facilitation strongly preferred
  • Knowledge of substance use and/or co-occurring disorders is a plus
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently as a contractor while maintaining collaboration with the team

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with:
    • Adults, families, or underserved populations
    • Substance use and co-occurring disorders
    • Community-based or outpatient behavioral health settings
  • Training in evidence-based modalities such as CBT, DBT, EMDR, or motivational interviewing
  • Familiarity with culturally responsive and strengths-based practices
