Service Alarm Technician
Job Description
We are seeking experienced Alarm Technicians to support our Projects Team, focused on multi-week commercial installation and deployment work involving fire alarm systems, intrusion alarm systems, and access control systems.
This role supports a wide range of customer environments, including retail, office, warehouse, distribution center, and industrial facilities. Project work involves extended travel, typically 1–2 weeks at a time, with travel extending to 2–3 weeks during peak project periods.
This position is ideal for a project-oriented Alarm Technician who enjoys staying on larger jobs, working as part of a team, and seeing installations through from start to finish.
Responsibilities
· Install and support fire alarm systems, intrusion alarm systems, and access control systems on commercial project sites
· Perform full system installations including panels, devices, field wiring, and end devices
· Pull, terminate, test, and label low-voltage cabling (18/2, Cat5e, Cat6, composite)
· Install control panels, keypads, mag locks, electric strikes, door contacts, motion sensors, sirens, and card readers
· Read and interpret blueprints, riser diagrams, and project documentation
· Perform system testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning during project closeout
· Work collaboratively with project teams, leads, and site supervisors
· Maintain accurate installation documentation and daily work records
· Travel for extended project durations while maintaining tools, PPE, and safety standards
Requirements
· Prior experience as an Alarm Technician installing fire alarm, security, and access control systems
· Strong background in project-based installations rather than short service calls
· Experience working in commercial environments including retail, office, warehouse, or industrial facilities
· Knowledge of alarm panels such as Silent Knight, Fire-Lite, Notifier, Bosch, DSC, and Honeywell
· Ability to work away from home for 1–3 weeks at a time depending on project demand
· Strong teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills
· Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
· State-required licenses where applicable
· Lift and confined space certifications are a plus
