About the role

• Oversee HVAC installers and service technicians with a focus on growth of the install segment.
• Drive customer satisfaction by resolving issues and closing the loop on complaints.
• Plan manpower and schedule work to maximize utilization and profitability.
• Create and manage budgets; report on results and trends.
• Own materials/equipment flow: ordering, staging, dispensing, and tracking.
• Minimize downtime by coordinating repairs and parts turnaround.
• Partner with marketing through research and departmental campaigns.
• Produce reports and review performance with management.
• Maintain records for departmental operations, including inventory, tools, and vehicles.
• Set craftsmanship standards; instruct crews on proper use of materials and methods.
• Verify payroll accuracy for technicians.
• Ensure team members have the proper tools and maintenance support.
• Work with dispatch to align the right technician to the right service call.
• Evaluate staff capabilities; deliver OJT, coaching, and training plans.
• Manage the Service team life cycle: hiring, termination, discipline, scheduling, priorities, staff meetings, counseling, performance reviews, and daily direction.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of HVAC service experience with 2+ years leading or managing in HVAC.
• Hands‑on understanding of gas piping, electrical, plumbing, and airflow.
• Proven supervisory, communication, computer, and math abilities.
• Positive attitude focused on quality and customer care.
• Valid driver’s license; ability to drive.

Physical requirements

• Lift 50 lbs regularly; up to 100 lbs occasionally.
• Climb ladders; access attics and tight spaces; enter crawlspaces; push, carry, pull; use hand tools; perform fine detail work.
• Work indoors and outdoors, including attics and crawlspaces.
• Stand, walk, sit; talk/hear in person and by phone.
• Handle/feel objects and controls; reach with hands and arms.
• Regular stooping, kneeling, bending, and crouching.
• Frequent exposure to extreme temperatures and adverse weather (wind, rain, ice, snow).
