Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced OB High Risk Ultrasound Technologist to perform high-risk obstetrical ultrasound examinations within a women's health/obstetrics and gynecology environment.
The ideal candidate will have strong high-risk OB ultrasound experience and be proficient in performing pregnancy-related ultrasound assessments, obtaining diagnostic-quality images, assisting physicians with ultrasound-guided procedures, and providing compassionate, patient-focused care.
High-Risk OB ultrasound experience is mandatory.
Key Responsibilities- Perform first-trimester ultrasounds, including nuchal translucency and dating sonograms.
- Perform fetal anatomy surveillance and fetal biophysical profiles.
- Perform Doppler studies and placenta evaluations.
- Conduct high-risk OB/GYN ultrasound examinations while ensuring diagnostic-quality imaging.
- Review patient history and collaborate with physicians to determine appropriate examinations.
- Prepare patients for ultrasound procedures and provide clear instructions and education.
- Assist physicians with ultrasound-guided procedures, including:
- Chorionic Villus Sampling (CVS)
- Amniocentesis
- Operate ultrasound equipment and optimize imaging parameters to obtain high-quality diagnostic images.
- Monitor patients during procedures and report significant changes to the appropriate clinical staff.
- Accurately document patient encounters and imaging information using Epic EMR and PACS.
- Perform routine equipment maintenance and follow appropriate cleaning procedures.
- Communicate with department leadership regarding workflow, completed procedures, and operational needs.
- Follow facility policies, patient safety standards, and infection-control practices.
- Provide professional, compassionate, and patient-centered care.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- RDMS certification through ARDMS — Required.
- Completion of an accredited Ultrasound Technologist training program — Required.
- Military Ultrasound Technologist training may be accepted.
- BLS certification — Preferred.
- Minimum 1 year of High-Risk Obstetrical Ultrasound experience — Required.
- High-Risk OB experience is non-negotiable.
- Epic EMR experience — Required.
- PACS experience — Required.
- Strong knowledge of high-risk OB ultrasound procedures and protocols.
- Excellent interpersonal and patient communication skills.
- Strong professionalism, adaptability, and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and effectively in a clinical environment.
- Spanish bilingual skills — Preferred.
