Job SummaryAliya Healthcare Consulting is seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Staff Accountant to join our team. The Staff Accountant will work under the direction of the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and will be responsible for analyzing, compiling, reconciling, and maintaining accurate financial records in accordance with applicable local, state, and federal regulations.
The ideal candidate will have strong accounting knowledge, excellent analytical skills, proficiency with Microsoft Office, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines.
Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesPrepare consolidated financial statements for internal and external reporting by gathering, analyzing, and verifying financial information from various departments and the general ledger system.
Analyze financial data, identify trends and discrepancies, and develop spreadsheet reports to support management decision-making.
Prepare and post general ledger entries while maintaining accurate accounting files and records.
Reconcile bank, balance sheet, and other financial accounts and investigate discrepancies as needed.
Prepare payments by reconciling accounts, accruing expenses, requesting disbursements, and assigning appropriate account numbers.
Research and respond to accounting and financial questions by analyzing and interpreting financial data.
Provide accounting support by entering and converting financial data into the general ledger system and gathering supplemental information required for financial reporting.
Review financial information for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with company policies and applicable regulations.
Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities as needed.
Maintain organized and accurate financial records and supporting documentation.
Maintain strict confidentiality of company, financial, employee, resident, and client information.
Stay current with accounting principles, regulations, industry practices, and professional standards through continuing education and professional development.
Perform other accounting, financial, and administrative duties as assigned by the CFO or management.
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
3–5 years of accounting or finance experience required.
Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, account reconciliation, and general ledger processes.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent organizational, time-management, and problem-solving abilities.
Highly detail-oriented with strong analytical and numerical skills.
Ability to analyze financial information and identify discrepancies or areas requiring further review.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously while meeting established deadlines.
Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively in a team environment.
Strong commitment to accuracy, confidentiality, and professional integrity.
Experience in healthcare, long-term care, skilled nursing, or multi-facility accounting is a plus.
