Position Summary
The Staff Accountant reports directly to the Accounting Manager and is responsible for the timely and accurate accumulation and reporting of company financial information. This position provides company management with financial information in standard and requested formats and performs assigned accounting duties with limited supervision.
The Staff Accountant is expected to maintain accurate financial records, apply strong attention to detail, exercise sound judgment when researching and resolving account issues, and maintain current instructions and procedures related to assigned job responsibilities. Performance is reviewed annually by the direct supervisor against company expectations and agreed-upon job-related performance goals.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Accounting & Financial Reporting
- Enter, review, and verify journal entries across company ledgers.
- Verify financial information and ensure its accuracy and completeness with strong attention to detail.
- Prepare, review, and issue monthly client financial statements, including calculating management fees and amounts owed to and/or due from property owners in accordance with contractual agreements.
Account Reconciliation & Analysis
- Reconcile bank and general ledger accounts.
- Research complex variables, make recommendations, and use good judgment when executing resolutions.
Procedures & Documentation
- Maintain a complete and current set of instructions and procedures related to assigned job responsibilities.
- Perform other related duties and special projects as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or equivalent experience.
- One to three years of accounting experience.
- Established proficiency with Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Experience working with ERP and related accounting systems, such as Microsoft GP, PaperSave, BI360, or comparable systems.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting preferred.

This position will have regular contact with Operations Managers, Accounting Department personnel, department leaders, and other internal stakeholders as necessary to perform assigned responsibilities.

This position will have regular contact with customers, clients, and other external business contacts as necessary to perform assigned responsibilities.

Actual compensation will be determined based on factors such as the selected candidate's accounting experience, education, technical skills, system proficiency, qualifications, and other job-related considerations.
